Isn't how makeup transformed to what it is today crazy, like buddy! I can still remember how my mom paints her face as a little kid, how she uses her eye pencil to draw a thin straight line on her eye brow, and as well using it to darken her eye line giving her this beautiful look at that time. At that time, she will look beautiful and ready to go but now the question is, if she should try that type of makeup now, I mean today in this generation and go out with it, do you think she will look beautiful to people like before, or do you think people will say she is beautiful? And trust me when I say even I, her daughter won't call that beauty rather I will say it is weird and awkward for this generation.

    Makeup dates all the way back to 6000BCE, starting with the Egyptians. They created it as they believed makeup was next to godliness and that it appeals to the gods; both male and female of all social classes wore makeup. Makeup has been captivating for centuries. Egyptians used natural elements including minerals and natural clay pigment ochre, for cosmetics and facial cleansers. Kohl was used to darken the eyes. Today, you might compare it to eyeliners! During the middle age church did not allow the use of makeup because it was considered immoral. Although makeup was prohibited, women continued to use various forms of it in Europe. At one time, women would crush fresh geranium petals and rub them on their lips and cheeks to create a rosy glow. 
Makeup can be used to highlight your natural features and enhance your beauty. It can help accentuate your eyes, make your lips look fuller, and give your skin a smooth and even appearance. Etymologically, makeup is the " manner in which something is put together". Makeup was used by upper class to decorate a person's eyes. Over time, makeup has undergone significant changes and transformation. Through our history, different cultures and civilization have used various substance and techniques to enhance their appearance. In ancient times, civilization like the Egyptian, Greeks and Roman used natural ingredients such as crushed minerals, plant extracts and even animal products to create makeup. These early forms of makeup were often used for religious,  cultural and ceremonial purposes. During the Renaissance period, makeup became popular among the upper classes in Europe. Pale skin was considered fashionable, and people used lead based product to achieve a lighter complexion. However, these products were toxic and led to various health issues. 
    In 20th century, makeup took on a more accessible and diverse approach. The invention of new cosmetics products and advancement in technology allowed for a wider range of colours, texture and formulations. The beauty industry expanded and makeup became more widely available to people of different backgrounds. In recent years, there has been a growing emphasis on inclusivity and diversity in the beauty industry. Makeup brands have started to offer a wider range of shades to cater to different skin tones, and there has been a shift towards embracing natural beauty and individuality.    The 1960s brought a liberated look with white lip and painted images on faces. Women wore heavy eye makeup with a wide range of eye shadow colours in 70s and 80s. Today, makeup tends to be more natural and take different elements from the past and incorporate them into daily looks.
    The 1980s saw the rise of heavy contouring and dramatic eye makeup while the 1990s embraced a more natural look. Makeup is used in a variety of ways from enhancing natural features to creating bold, artistic looks. With the rise of social media and beauty influencer, makeup trends are constantly evolving with new products and techniques being introduced regularly. Makeup is used to showcase people personal style and identity. Additionally, makeup is now more inclusive, with a wider range of nkshades and products available to cater to diverse skin tones and preference. 
   Makeup has played a significant role in our society for several years. Makeup can influence our self image and serve as a symbol of wealth and class status. Ranging from a lighthearted application in costume to a life altering component of gender expression, makeup may also aid us in shaping our identities.
Some people may become dependent on makeup to feel confident or attractive to a reliance on external factors for self esteem. This can create a negative self Image and impact self acceptance. The use of makeup in media and advertising can perpetuate unrealistic beauty standards, creating pressure for individuals to look a certain way. This can contribute to feelings of inadequacy and low self esteem. Over all, the effect of makeup can vary depending on the individual and their relationship with cosmetics. It's important for individuals to use makeup in a way that makes them feel comfortable and confident, while alsi being mindful of potential negative impon their skin and self image and remember that confidence and beauty lies within one self buddy, beauty lies within you!.
