"BOLA AHMED TINUBU: A POLITICAL MAESTRO RESHAPING NIGERIA'S DESTINY"

Imagine a man who has left an indible mark on Nigeria politics, a true trailblazer and kingmaker. A man with unwavering determination whose name echoes through the corridors of Nigeria politics. BOLA AHMED TINUBU, a name that resonates with power and influence. From a humble beginning to his rise as a prominent politician, Tinubu's journey is nothing short of remarkable. Let's dive into the life and career of this extraordinary figure, shall we ?
Bola Ahmed Tinubu also known as Asiwaju BOLA Tinubu, was born on March 19, 1952, in Lagos, Nigeria. He is one of the famous Nigerian politician who had began his way into political career in the 1990s. He is the former governor of Lagos state and one of the most influential politician in Nigeria referred to as "JAGABAN OF BORGU".
Tinubu attended St John primary school, Aroloya, Lagos before proceeding to Children Home School in Ibadan. He completed undergraduate studies in the United States, first at Richard J. Daley College in Chicago and then at Chicago State University.
Accounting had been the focus of his studies and he worked as an accountant with various US consulting firms. Tinubu returned to Nigeria in the 1980s and worked for Mobile oil as an auditor, later rising in the ranks there. In 1987, he married his wife OLUREMI TINUBU CON OON, born 21september 1960 who is also a Nigerian politician and the current first lady of Nigeria, as the wife of the extraordinary figure, she was the first lady of Lagos state from 1999 to 2007 when her husband was governor. Tinubu is the father of six.
Tinubu was elected to Lagos West senate seat in 1992 as part of the Social Democratic party SDP in the wake of the country's annulled presidential election in 1993 and GEN SANI ABACHA's subsequent seizure of power that year. In 1999, Tinubu now part of the Alliance for Democracy AD party was elected governor of Lagos state, he was reelected in 2003. During his two terms as Governor of Lagos state, he was credited with improving the state's finances through better enforcement of tax collection and for enacting a public transportation project to address the considerable traffic gridlock in Lagos. After stepping down in 2007 Tinubu's reputation as a kingmaker grew.
Tinubu is said to be one of the wealthiest politician in Nigeria. Over the years, he has been the subject of corruption related allegations, many regarding the source of his considerable wealth and some relating to his time as Governor of Lagos of Lagos state. He was also accused of having profited from drug trafficking. In 1993, the United States government filed a complaint that accused him of having a bank account containing the proceeds from narcotics sales, as a result some of $460,000 was seized from a US bank account in his name. However, Tinubu was not charged and has denied the allegations.
With Buhari constitutionally limited to serving two terms, the APC selected Tinubu to be the party presidential candidate in the 2023 election. Like the other candidates, Tinubu focused his campaign on the main concern of Nigeria, the insecurities increase in the country as well as economic issues such as inflation and unemployment. He also vowed to make much needed infrastructure improvements. Tinubu was sworn in as president on May 29,2023.
But now buddy, here is a question, is it the same man that led Lagos state in 1999 to 2007 that is leading our country in this manner where everything keeps getting tight everyday. He had promised us security but honestly speaking we are sleeping and waking up to more exposure to insecurities, imagine the kidnappings going on in the country today, can we say we are living in that promises he made? Since he took power as the president 2,423 people has been killed and 1,872 has been abducted. Aside from that buddy, take a look at the removal of subsidy that is making life difficult for people, making the cost of living high and the standard of living low, I mean, how can bag of rice be N70,000, 1litre of petroleum that we buy at the rate of N100 now N800, can you see the huge difference, every thing is now times two, imagine buying a bag of purewater for N500 what we buy N250 isn't that crazy buddy, infact it's like i am dreaming someone should pls wake me up from this terrible dream cause I don't understand what they think of us, maybe they think we are pablos and can afford anything. We may have been able to adjust to situations as Nigerians but that did not mean you should strangle us with BILLINGS and SUFFERING.
I hope and pray our able and extraordinary president can find something to do about this before things go out of hand completely,🤞✌️.
