"Hunted by Shadows: The Deep Psychological scars of Kidnapping"

Picture yourself being trapped in a dimly lit room surrounded by strangers, a place cold, colder than Russia, with no mummy to hug or a man to cuddle. The sound of your own rapid breathing echoing in your ears, drowing out any hope of escape. Days turned into weeks and the constant fear and uncertainty taking a toll on your psyche, which makes you question your own sanity, trapped in a cycle of anxiety and despair.
This is the situation of Nigeria now, buddy, kidnapping here and there, we are in the position where we have to start sleeping with Cutlass and knives because of the fear in us. 70 percent of Nigeria citizens are living in fear, nobody feels safe anymore, everybody is now being so careful and are tightening their ropes hard before their life gets kidnapped.

We now wake up to see headlines like "police rescue nine kidnap victims in Ogun, one held captive", "police confirm another case of abducted children in Abia", "Ten lafia university students kidnapped by gunmen" and so many more.
It's truly heartbreaking to hear about the kidnapping in Zamfara, Nigeria. More than 30 people, including at least 24 female students were taken by gunmen at the university. It's a distressing situation and my thoughts go out to all those affected. The pain and fear that these individuals and their families must be going through is unimaginable. Kidnapping like these have a profound impact on individuals and their loved ones.
The psychological effects can be long- lasting and it's important for us to raise awareness and provide support to those affected.
Now buddy, here is a question for you and it goes like this, "if you were once a kidnap victim can you ever feel safe again?, or " can you go on with life like you've always do before the kidnap?". If you can put yourself in that situation, you will know what it feels like to be a victim of circumstance. So buddy, do you think these 24 students can come out of the cell there were forced to be in and be joyful or feel safe on the outside world again?.
Facts about these kidnap victims is that most of them are always suffering from emotional shock and numbness, fear and anxiety, helplessness and hopelessness, and other psychological effects you can think of. Most victims are always disassociative and withdrawn, they do have anger issues because they don't know where the attack may come from so they tend to see people as attackers or kidnappers.
The issue of kidnapping in Nigeria has reach the height where we have to beg God for protection and even the witches and wizards in the country for mercy because we no longer know if it village people that is following Nigeria.
As we come to the end of this story, let's take a moment to acknowledge the immense pain and suffering that survivors endure. The fear, trauma and anxiety can be overwhelming, affecting every aspect of their lives. By raising awareness and offering support we can help survivors on their journey towards healing and recovery. Let's continue to stand together, advocating for their rights, providing resources and fostering a safe and understanding environments. Peace out ✌️buddy.
